Zen teaches the importance of being conscious of the here and now - not thinking about the past or the future. Don't dwell on what you had for breakfast or speculate on what you'll have for dinner, just enjoy your lunch. That sort of thing.
Paint on the pad above. As you work, your strokes will grow fainter until they return to a snow white expanse of possibilities. Watch as your picture evolves. Details dissolve into the mist. The focus changes from near to far and back again. A meadow becomes a space station. Guide the picture for a while, then let it guide you. Have fun. The object isn't to finish, or to own, just to do.
